Blog Policy Change

Due to the large amount of spam in the comments, word verification has been enabled for all future blog comments. Word verification puts a random graphic image containing alphanumeric characters on the screen and requires commenters to type the same characters before their comment is accepted. Since automated programs cannot see the characters in the image, it is hoped that word verification will reduce the amount of unsolicited commercial messages in the comments we receive.

I have also deleted all comments that contained links to other sites, or had no content related to the article they were linked to. If I have deleted any comments in error, or I have overlooked a comment that should be deleted, please let me know via email.
